A TYPICAL DAY AT JIGSAW
There is a lot to fit in during a fun filled day at Jigsaw!
The children arrive at 9am and come into the setting where the team are on hand to help with self-registration and helping the children to get busy.
Daily activities are set up in areas around a weekly theme and cover all areas of the curriculum such as literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design. Within these areas are staple activities such as role play, small world, construction and sensory play.
At 10am the rolling snack bar is open and children are invited to sit down, have their snack and chat among friends.
At 10.30am the children sit down for our ever popular interactive carpet time sessions, each day offering a different activity which helps to imbed our current learning such as magic maths and fun phonics or offers a more holistic activity such as moving & grooving.
The extra-curricular activities-woodland explorers, teddy tennis and multi sports run alongside our daily program.
The sessions are very much child led with a mixture of free play, child led play and adult initiated activities both indoors and outdoors in a free flow environment.
At the end of the session, all children are encouraged to help with a quick tidy up before settling down to listen to a good story at 12pm before home time at 12.15pm.
Lunch club is always a social occasion, children choose their seat and enjoy their lunch brought from home in the company of friends and a team member.
Again, all children are encouraged to help with a quick tidy up before a lively session of singing & dancing takes place, then it’s off home at 3pm.

Sessions for 3-4 year olds
These sessions are for children who are at least 2 years and 9 months old.
Morning session
Daily, Monday to Friday:
9.00am – 12.15pm
Optional additional time
Lunch club:
12.15pm – 1.30pm
Extended Day:
12.15pm – 3.00pm
